　　Founded on January 15, 1953, the Ethnic Publishing House was formerly known as the Counsellor's Office of the Central Ethnic Affairs Commission. The Chinese name inscribed by Premier Zhou Enlai is the most distinctive brand symbol of the Ethnic Publishing House.
　　Since its establishment, the Ethnic Publishing House has always been taking mission of serving the CPC's ethnic work, which is, publishing Marxist-Leninist classics, works of senior proletarian revolutionaries, important policy documents of the CPC and the state, and works of various subjects in social sciences and natural sciences in ethnic minority languages; Publishing academic works, popular reading materials and reference books on ethnic minorities in the common language of the country; In the mean time, the Ethnic Publishing Hous carries out business of audio-video publishing as well as related printing and distribution services.
　　For more than 70 years, the Ethnic Publishing House has always taken the translation and publication of Marxist-Leninist classics, works of party and state leaders, policy documents, laws and regulations, and important conference documents as its primary task. It also dedicates to disseminate scientific and cultural knowledge to ethnic minorities, and served an important role for political propaganda, cultural inheritance, knowledge dissemination as well as unity demonstration. So far, the Ethnic Publishing House has published more than 27,000 kinds of books, periodicals, and audio-video products with more than 220 million copies (plates) in total. Among these books, Hundreds have been awarded nationally and provincially. It has formed a modern publishing institution that integrates Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur, Kazakh, Korean, and Han languages, with book publishing as primary business, supplemented by periodicals, audio-visual and electronic books. the Ethnic Publishing House played a great role in national publishing industry, and making important contributions to promoting the cause of national unity. It has developed into the largest and most influential publishing organization specialized in ethnic affairs cross China.
　　In 1959, the book "WU TI QING WEN JIAN" published by the Ethnic Publishing House won the gold medal at the Leipzig International Book Fair in Germany, leading a precedent for country’s wining international publishing gold medals, it made great contribution to promote Chinese culture in international society. Since its founding, the Ethnic Publishing House has actively served diplomatic infrastructure of the CPC and the state. Through book and culture exchange, it has established bilateral relationships with publishers and academic institutions in more than 20 countries. 　　The Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council Information Office, with the support of the Research Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, and China International Publishing Group, have compiled a fourth volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China. This volume is designed to help officials and the public better understand and apply Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, to impress upon them the decisive nature of the Two Affirmations, to strengthen their commitment to the Four Consciousnesses, the Four-sphere Confidence, and the Two Upholds, and to guide them to forge ahead in unity and with greater resolve on a new journey in the new era.
